Terms of Use

Welcome to Global Diagnostic Laboratory ("GDL", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and GDL governing your use of our website at www.gdl.com.pk, our online report portal at v.gdl.com.pk, our WhatsApp booking, our home-sample collection service, our diagnostic services at any of our branches, and our B2B partner program. By accessing or using any of these, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to book tests, sign consent forms, or enter a B2B agreement on your own behalf. For minors, a parent or legal guardian must provide the booking, consent, and identification.

2. Medical disclaimer

Our reports are for diagnostic and informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read in a GDL report.

Reference ranges shown on reports are for general guidance; your physician will interpret the result in the context of your symptoms, history, and other findings.

3. Services we provide

• Pathology, biochemistry, microbiology, haematology, immunology, endocrinology, molecular diagnostics (PCR), histopathology, and cytology testing.
• Radiology, ultrasound, ECG, echocardiography, and other imaging services.
• Health packages combining multiple tests at a discounted rate.
• Home sample collection within our coverage area.
• Online report delivery via v.gdl.com.pk and SMS/WhatsApp notification.
• B2B referral testing for partner laboratories and hospitals.

4. Booking, payment, and cancellation

• You can book tests via our website, WhatsApp, phone, or in person at any branch.
• Payment is due at the time of sample collection (or, for online bookings, at the time of the visit). We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and mobile wallets.
• If you need to cancel a booking, please notify us at least 2 hours before the scheduled home visit, or before the sample is drawn at a branch. Once a sample is collected, the test is generally non-refundable because the consumables and lab work have been used.
• Prices are as listed at the time of booking. We may revise the rate list from time to time; new prices apply to new bookings only.
• Discounts (e.g. bulk-test discounts shown on the website) are applied at the time of billing.

5. Sample collection & patient preparation

Some tests require fasting, a particular time of day, or specific preparation. We will tell you what's required when you book. If a sample is rejected by the lab (e.g. haemolysed, insufficient, or improperly stored), we may need to recollect — at no extra cost to you.

6. Reports, turnaround, and access

• Turnaround time (TAT) is shown next to each test in our catalog. Most routine tests are reported the same day; specialised tests (PCR, cultures, histopathology) take longer.
• Reports are available at v.gdl.com.pk and can be collected in print at any branch.
• We notify you (via SMS/WhatsApp, if opted in) when a report is ready. The report contains the patient's name and the tests performed.
• You are responsible for keeping your report access credentials (phone/CNIC) secure. We are not responsible for reports accessed by anyone who knows your credentials.

7. Critical results

Where a result indicates a potentially life-threatening finding, we will attempt to contact you and your referring physician as soon as practical. By using our services you consent to this emergency contact. If we cannot reach you, we may share the result with another healthcare provider involved in your care.

8. B2B partner program

Partner labs and hospitals are subject to a separate written agreement that supplements these Terms, including turnaround commitments, white-labelling, sample pickup, and tiered pricing. The B2B agreement prevails over these Terms in case of conflict.

9. Acceptable use of our website and portal

You agree not to:

• Access the portal using credentials that aren't yours, or attempt to bypass authentication.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or interfere with their normal operation.
• Upload viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt our services.
• Scrape, mirror, or systematically copy our content without prior written consent.
• Use the website or portal for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

10. Intellectual property

All content on this website — text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is the property of GDL or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our prior written permission.

11. Third-party services and links

Our site may link to third-party services (such as our EMR provider xMed, courier partners, or payment processors). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those services. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GDL and its officers, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, our services or reports — including any medical decision you or your physician make based on a report. Our total liability for any claim related to a specific test is limited to the fee you paid for that test.

Diagnostic testing has inherent limitations (sensitivity, specificity, pre-analytical factors). Reports are intended to be interpreted by a qualified healthcare professional in context.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify GDL against any third-party claim arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your unlawful behaviour.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the portal or services if you:

• Violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
• Provide false or misleading information.
• Misuse the portal or engage in fraudulent activity.
• Pose a security or operational risk to us or other users.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any dispute will first be addressed through good-faith discussion with our management. If unresolved, the dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will give reasonable notice (e.g. via SMS or email). Continued use after such notice means you accept the updated Terms.
